Hearing Tests

At Our Hearing we provide the opportunity to have your hearing tested which results in a comprehensive and detailed report.

Hearing assessment

Our hearing assessments include the following:

  •  Medical History – A detailed medical history will be taken.
  • Otoscopic Examination- An otoscopic examination will be performed to check the health of your ears. This will allow us to check if there is any wax, debris or foreign bodies in the ears.
  • Hearing Test – A hearing test will then be conducted to determine whether your hearing is within the normal limits or not.

Your Audiologist will discuss the results of the hearing test with you and advise you on any options you may have, depending on your results. If any results indicate you need to be seen by an Ears, Nose and Throat specialist we will recommend this option for you and also write to your GP so a referral can be done. Once you have received your report you are welcome to book a follow up appointment to discuss any queries you may have.

Test Report

The report will contain all your test results and will be written clearly for you to understand, what your results mean and how the results impact your hearing.

The report will also contain any advice and recommendations discussed during your consultation.

Medico-Legal Assesment

At Our Hearing our Audiologists are highly experienced in many areas. We have experience in working for the NHS, Medico-Legal agencies and experience in providing reports for the claimant and defendant Solicitors.

To ensure whether there is evidence of noise induced hearing loss with your case, we can carry out a full hearing test for claimants. Audiograms will be processed through the NIHL calculator set by the Coles Lutman and Buffin (CLB) Guidelines.

  • Air and bone audiograms give the most accurate and reliable assessment of your clients hearing. Home visits are available for Claimants too.
  • Our Medico-legal audiograms are always independent and British Society of Audiology compliant.
  • We accept one off referrals and large volume clinics.
  • Clinics can be set up to accommodate caseloads.
  • All reports adhere to Coles, Lutman & Buffin Guidelines.
  • We have ENT Consultants with Medico-Legal experience to look at your case.

Industrial Hearing screening service

If you employ staff within a noisy working environment, it is a legal requirement (Regulation 5 of the Management of Health and Safety at work Regulations 1992 MHSW Regs) to have your employees’ hearing checked and to provide them with hearing protection. At Our Hearing we provide workplace hearing test services across the UK and other services to help you achieve a safer noise environment within your workplace.

Our services:

  • Onsite hearing screening for employees: Every employee should have their hearing tested at the start of their contract and annually thereafter.
  • Noise Assessment and Noise Awareness Training: Noise levels will be assessed in the working environment and advice will be given accordingly.
  • Noise Surveys: We will give you detailed information of our findings. A report will include what is adherent to the Noise at Work Regulations and will also include what actions need to be taken if need be, such as what noise protection is required.
  • Noise Protection in the Workplace: We also offer a service for your employees to have custom-made noise protection plugs made which will provide them with the ultimate protection.
